Colonel Dr Heidi Doughty OBE DL OStJ TD
Heidi is a Consultant in Transfusion Medicine for NHS Blood and Transplant and acts as an adviser to the Ministry of Defence.
She studied medicine at Charing Cross Hospital Medical School, London and St John’s College, Cambridge before completing her postgraduate training in haematology, medical education and health care management.
Col Doughty commanded 202 (Midlands) Field Hospital (V). As a military adviser, she delivered new transfusion capabilities, patient safety initiatives, and European collaboration. She was awarded the OBE in 2013.
Heidi is serving as a Colonel Commandant for the Royal Army Medical Corps and the County President for St John Ambulance (West Midlands). She remains an active member of the Royal College of Pathologists, working to raise the profile of pathology and science in society.
She is married to Lt Col (retd) Jim Storr, who was Professor of War Studies at the Norwegian Military Academy.
